Auxiliary Instructions for Classic Radio Models:
Europa Mono, Europa Stereo, Mexico Cassette, Europa Cassette,
Grand Prix Stereo, Grand Prix Mono
- The auxiliary option on Classic radios ca be done two different ways.
- The first way is to order external cable # BNA-CBL.STR for
a stereo unit, BNA-CBL.MONO for a mono unit.
- The cable is inserted into the external jack on the rear of the radio
(note: option is only available for non cassette units. Mexico
cassette and Europa cassette units only have a mono jack on the rear
also Mercedes model 110, 111, 112, and early 113 Coupe can only use
this option).
- The external cables have a male din plug at one end small black box
with a female 3.5mm at the other.
- The din plug side is inserted into the socket on the rear of the
radio.
- The black box side can be mounted under or on the side of the dash
in the glove box or ashtray or anywhere you find convenient.
- The radio does not need to be sent this way.
- The second way is to send the unit in and have the female 3.5mm jack
installed in the face of the radio so the option is contained in the
unit.
- The unit needs to be shipped to us for this modification.
- On either option you can access the auxiliary audio by inserting
one end of the provided 3.5mm male to male into the female jack in
the black box or the face of the unit.
- And the other end into 3.5mm jack of the auxiliary unit. (mp3, satellite,
etc).
- The radio can be on either AM or FM.
- The auxiliary audio is incorporated into the audio section after
the tuning circuit.
- It is hard wire not modulated. All of the volume and tone controls
are still functional.
- To return to the radio simply unplug the 3.5 cable from the radio
side.
